Holiday Collection Schedule

No Montgomery County-provided recycling or trash collection occurs on the following holidays:

When your recycling or trash day falls on one of these holidays, collection will be made the next day.  To accomodate this holiday collection "slide," all other scheduled collections for the remainder of the week will also occur one day later than usual.  All items to be collected must be out at the curb by 7:00 a.m.

Note that the slide only takes place when the actual holiday falls on a weekday.  If the actual holiday falls on a weekend day, the collection schedule is not affected.  For example, if July 4 is on a Sunday (with the observed holiday on Monday, July 5), there would be no holiday slide.

If you (or your community/homeowners' association) contract for your trash collection privately, please check with your community manager or your hauler to find out how holidays are handled. The Division of Solid Waste Services does not have information about private collections and their holiday schedules.
